On the heels of a challenge given by my pastor, a sermon given at Vintage and a friend who is desperate need of a miracle, I have been confronted with the question of “What do you hope for?” Because of a relationship with Christ and being brought up outside of poverty, hope is not a foreign emotion. But it is funny how articulating hopes can be harder than you would think.
More than just saying, “I hope for something better” I believe it is necessary to say what it is specifically that you hope for. Under the leadership of Matt Smith, I have adopted his rule that you cannot expect what you cannot inspect. How then can you measure your hopes and their progress if you are not sure of what they are? Better is obviously good, but if you actually know what better is, you may find that you have a part to play in getting to that destination.
What do you hope for?
Your right on target with this!! Good question…it is like asking what your purpose is and fulfilling it…
